Applications for Frozen Are now Open
Adult auditions will take place on Sunday 29 March at Adele Taylor School of Dance, 9B, 11–13 Market Walk, Huddersfield HD1 2QA.
Movement will be provided via a video on the website in advance, so performers can learn it before attending. This allows the audition to focus on performance rather than learning choreography on the day. Dancers will learn additional movement during the audition.
To attend an adult audition, performers may be 15 at the time of the audition but must be aged 16+ by the time of the show. Applicants may audition for one role only, although the panel will ask whether you would like to be considered for other roles or the ensemble if you are not successful for your chosen role.
Ensemble and dancer auditions will take place as a group session and will include singing and movement. Some featured ensemble roles (such as Bishop, Handmaidens and Featured Hidden Folk) are available; those wishing to be considered may be asked to sing solo and read a short piece of dialogue.
For the smaller principal roles (King, Queen, Pabbie, Bulda, Weselton and Oaken), performers should audition for that role but should be aware they will also perform as part of the ensemble or dancers in scenes where their character does not appear.
Children’s auditions will include a group audition for Young Anna and Young Elsa, with performers applying for both roles and the panel selecting the final casting. There will also be a group audition for dancers under 16.
Girls auditioning for Young Anna/Elsa may be 8 years old at the time of audition, but must have turned 9 by the time of the show. Under-16 dancers will likely be aged 13–16 (final minimum age to be confirmed).
Due to licensing restrictions for children in entertainment, all performers under 16 will be split into two teams and will alternate performances, with each team performing four shows.
